How do I work out the fuel cost of a trip?
Divide the trip distance by your vehicle's fuel economy to get the fuel used, then multiply by the price per gallon or litre. For example, a 300-mile trip at 30 MPG uses 10 gallons; at $3.50 a gallon that is $35. The fuel cost calculator does this for one-way and round trips in US or metric units.
Is it cheaper to lease or buy a car?
It depends on how long you keep the car and how much it holds its value. Leasing usually has lower monthly payments but you own nothing at the end; buying costs more up front but you keep an asset with a resale value. How much does a car depreciate each year?
